Not enough exclamation points to describe how happy I am that this month has rolled around. Not only is it cooler outside, but the pumpkin spice is flowing in every direction, Halloween is on its way and hockey season is starting!!!! YAY!!!!
I’ve only been a hockey fan for about 8 years now. Growing up a card-carrying nerd (GI Joe membership card, Justice League card, Mega Force card, take your pick), sports never was much of a thing. I always wanted to like hockey, but never knew what I was watching apart from puck supposed to be in net and the occasional fight. I’d always get confused and switch over to wrestling for my fighting needs. But then one day I learned about some of the rules and I was hooked!
Hockey is just on the same page as me, right down to the music. You know, like the music at the games or during the commercials. Football is country, Basketball is Hip-Hop and Hockey is classic rock. I do enjoy those other two, but it’s hard to beat a sport where it’s ok to pass one of your opponents and just swat him in the face. Wanna straight up punch someone out on the other team? 2 minute penalty and then get back out there, slugger! Awesome.
